We evaluated the effect of duration of the
diffusion-encoding gradient () and/or diffusion time
interval () in DW-MRI. DW-MRI were performed with
various or in healthy volunteers and patients with
metastatic brain tumor, and the ADC and kurtosis were
estimated. In our results, the kurtosis was affected by
more significant than , whereas there was no
significant change in ADC against to both of and .
Our results suggested that it might be important to
optimize the , leading usefulness in clinical
diagnosis and assessment of the treatment effect of
brain disease using kurtosis.
