Travelling Wave Coil with Limited SAR

Travelling wave MRI exposes the human body to high levels of SAR. Recently, a targeted travelling wave approach using an interrupted coaxial waveguide was presented. We present hardware measurements about the opportunity of SAR restriction by using a travelling wave coaxial coil with variable imagion regions. Signal and flip angle distributions were calculated and evaluated for different sizes of the variabel imaging regions. The measurements show a good RF restriction to the respective imaging region.
