T2*
mapping is a broadly-applied MRI measurement technique with various applications
in many areas of MRI, including fMRI, molecular cell tracking, and the in
vivo quantification of superparamagnetic contrast agents. This study assessed
the validity of a T2* mapping module implemented in Segment (Medviso, AB).
The T2* mapping module employs a linear least squares fitting algorithm with
a goodness of fit certainty criterion for enhancing the accuracy of T2* maps.
When compared with standard methods of T2* mapping, Segment showed an
improved correlation with concentration over standard methods in phantom
measurements, with a much shorter time of T2* map creation.
