Venous cerebral blood volume (CBVv) is key to the BOLD response, but could not be measured directly until the advent of the VERVE technique. We present a new method for measuring changes in CBVv using hyperoxia. This new method has a high signal-to-noise ratio enabling high spatial (223mm) and temporal (TR=2.4s) resolution. In this work we show measurements of relative changes in CBVv. However with refinements to the acquisition and analysis it will be possible to measure the percentage change in CBVv.
