coils with a high numbers of receive elements are an important tool for many
applications. Commercial scanners usually dont support such high numbers of
receive elements and non-standard hardware upgrades are needed to use such
arrays. We present a 3T scanner compatible 96 channel head array coil which
allows the selection of an arbitrary subset of 32 receiver channels from the
96 channels available, which makes it possible to benefit from the use of
small receive elements on a standard MRI system.
