High-resolution
sodium imaging has been performed in vivo using a 4T whole-body system and a
gradient echo sequence. In a monoexponential approximation T1 mapping can be
performed in a manner similar to that for protons, using two gradient echo
acquisitions. Careful parameter optimisation is required, as well as high
SNR.
