In this explorative study we focussed on the relationship between baseline CBF and individual alpha frequency (IAF) calculated from EEG data in a cohort of 10 healthy subjects. Since the IAF is a parameter for the frequency of EEG oscillations it can be used as a measure of a subjects vigilance level. Accordingly, we wondered whether correlations between IAF and baseline CBF can be found in primary sensory regions (representing the preparedness for external input) or in brain areas involved in vigilance control.
