The synergy between high field strength and parallel imaging has been discussed in the literature. This study implements an autocalibrating acquisition and GRAPPA based reconstruction to look at three different applications high resolution imaging of trabecular bone micro-architecture and cartilage and susceptibility weighted imaging of brain vasculature. Our initial studies investigated reduction factors (R) upto 4 and image quality was preserved in all applications till R=4.The study supports the idea that there is an upward shift in maximum speedup factor at higher field. With the availability of appropriate coil hardware imaging at even higher acceleration should be possible.
