A fast chemical shift imaging technique for magnetic resonance temperature imaging is explored in which the echo-spacing constraints are purposely relaxed to alias the fat-water spectrum in order to gain efficiency in both resolution and acquisition time. When incorporated with a partially parallel acquisition, the resulting technique maintains the advantages of a CSI based techniques, such as the ability to use the lipid signal as an internal reference, but has a spatio temporal resolution acceptable for monitoring most thermal therapies. Initial calibration results and measurements using the sequence are discussed.
