Goal of our study was to evaluate high-resolution 3D multifrequency MRE in patients with newly diagnosed intracranial tumors. We included 26 patients (6313 yrs., 18 female), the majority of whom had a primary brain tumor, followed by cerebral metastasis and meningioma and in one case an intra-axial abscess. Meningiomas were found to be clearly stiffer and higher viscous than all other lesions. Grade II-III tumors seemed to be stiffer and higher viscous than grade IV tumors and cerebral metastases.
