- MRI has become a useful tool to monitor the total
sodium concentration in brain tissue. Unfortunately,
conventional techniques are not capablo to resolve
changes in intra- and extracellular sodium reliably. In
this study, we present a method to transiently open the
blood
brain barrier
and
load the brain tissue with the sodium shift agent
