A radial T
2
mapping
sequence that makes use of a cyclically alternating T
2
Prep
was developed at 3T to avoid the adverse effects of
respiratory or RR variability on T
2
quantification.
Bloch simulations and phantom experiments were performed
to compare the thus obtained T
2
maps
with that of a standard sequential T
2
mapping
approach. In 9 healthy volunteers it was confirmed that
more robust T
2
mapping
is obtained with alternating T
2
preparation.
