Antenna: Role of Surface Waves

The radiative
antenna is optimized in terms of size and dielectric properties of the
substrate. The role of surface waves is studied as a function of the
thickness of the dielectric substrate and the relative electrical
permittivity. As a result, optimal in-coupling of RF signal is strongly
determined by the surface waves.
