Radial MR
imaging is presented in which the linear gradient fields are generated by a
matrix of individual, generic coils. The ability of this multi-coil concept
for magnetic field modeling to flexibly trade accuracy for efficiency is
applied to increase the available gradient strength and imaging bandwidth
multi-fold. MC imaging bears the potential of providing an inexpensive
alternative for specialized imaging applications for which maximum gradient
strength and performance are not required.
