T1 weighted brain imaging protocols are often designed to provide a good contrast to a large range of T1 values, from those of WM to those of CSF. In this work we show that the optimization of the contrast to a shorter range of T1s can unveil interesting anatomical contrast often disregarded in T1 weighted imaging.
