The accuracy of T2* quantification plays an important role in many researches and applications. However, when there exists background susceptibility field gradients, T2* values may be distorted due to TE-shifting effect and echo-shifting effect. In this study, we proposed an improved fitting procedure to quantify the GTE and Gky for correcting TE-shifting effect and avoiding signal-loss artifact from echo-shifting effect. Experimental results in the phantom and human brain suggest that
