In this work, we demonstrate that highly resolved 1H NMR spectra can be obtained in different regions of the mouse brain in vivo at 16.4 T. Spectra were acquired in the striatum and hippocampus of anesthetized mice using the LASER sequence (TE of 16.5 ms) with a voxel size less than 5 l. Using LCModel analysis, 16 and 17 metabolites (out of 19) were quantified in the hippocampus and striatum respectively with Cramr-Rao Lower bounds < 20%. Future studies in mouse models will benefit from the excellent spectral resolution and accurate localization obtained at 16.4 T.
