RF B1 transmit field non-uniformity, caused primarily by skin depth and dielectric resonance effects, is a large source of error in quantitative MR measurements made at 3.0T. We investigated the possibility that B1 errors could be reduced using dual transmission by measuring cervical cord MTR and B1 with and without dual transmission.
