A
2D projection reconstruction method with variable gradient amplitudes is
proposed to cover the k-space uniformly. Simulations and sodium measurements
were performed to compare a non-adapted with a density adapted radial
sequence scheme in regard to SNR and blurring. A total SNR benefit of 1.37
for the adapted sequence can be reached. The new density adapted 2D radial
sampling scheme provides higher SNR and less artifacts in the presence of
magnetic field inhomogeneities than conventional projection reconstruction
methods.
