Transmit
array systems generate improved spatially selective excitation profiles while
mitigating RF power disposition. We used our 3T Siemens 8-channel transmit
system for small FOV excitation to improve parallel imaging SNR when the
sample exceeds the ROI. We ensure that excitation artifact signals are below
the image noise level, making the g-factor maps ideal (unity) and effective
reduction factors greater than what would typically be used for a particular
array become possible.
