The
tCho concentration and tumor volume were calculated using in-vivo MRS and MRI
in estrogen positive and negative patients (n=46) with confirmed invasive
ductal carcinoma at 1.5 T. The tumor volume for the estrogen positive
patients was (33.57 45.7) significantly higher (p=0.03) compared to
estrogen negative patients (67.2 60.8). However, the tCho concentration was
similar in estrogen positive (4.2 2.3 mmol/kg) and estrogen negative
patients (4.1 3.5) mmol/kg. The increase in the tumor volume may be
attributed to the higher microvessels density in ER negative cancer patients.
