Renal
cortex is the part of renal columns that contain the renal corpuscles and the
renal tubules. The direction of water diffusion is consistent, which was
properly reflected in the map of InterVoxel Diffusion Coherence. Diffusion
Tensor Imaging in kidney were acquired from a 3T scanner. InterVoxel
Diffusion Coherence detected high uniformity of the eigenvector distribution
in the renal cortex. In the other hand, low Fractional Anisotropy in the
corresponding regions suggested diffusion isotropy within cortex.
