A
rapid multi-slice fat/water separated imaging protocol has been developed for
mapping body fat with application to obesity studies. The method combines a
3-echo GRE acquisition and parallel imaging to scan the abdomen and chest in
<30 sec. A recently developed joint estimation method for water/fat
separation is able to perform robustly in the presence of large B0 field
inhomogeneities.
