A
simple technique is described for scan time reduction in proton echo planar
spectroscopic imaging (EPSI) of the human brain. Scan time is reduced by 25%
while preserving spatial resolution and the field of view using a circular
k-space phase-encoding pattern. Metabolic images created using square or
circular-encoding are nearly indistinguishable.
