The
purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between T1rho
measurements in cartilage and meniscus using quantitative MRI. Our study
involving 64 subjects (including both healthy subjects and patients with
osteoarthritis) found that 48% of the subjects had a meniscal tear, with the
incidence being highest in the posterior medial horn. Despite these findings,
we did not find a significant correlation between the T1rho cartilage and the
posterior medial horn of the meniscus. However, significant correlations were
found between the T1rho of the lateral meniscus and the cartilage sub
compartments.
