Black-blood
(BB) T2-weighted (T2w) imaging can provide increased liver lesion conspicuity
over standard bright-blood T2w imaging. The sequence evaluated here uses
respiratory navigator-triggering and a motion-sensitized driven equilibrium
(MSDE) pre-pulse with a multi-slice turbo spin echo (TSE) readout. This
sequence provides BB T2w images with high TSE image quality and without EPI
distortions. In this study, various motion-sensitizing gradient directions
and strengths were evaluated.
