The
aim of this work was to optimize and compare different T2 sequences so we
could find one suitable for quantitative study of premature newborn brain.
Four sequences were tested. After mathematical correction, T2 values found
for each sequence were comparable to those calculated by the reference
sequence. We choose the SSFSE sequence for premature T2 maps due to its
duration. This sequence was optimized in order to decrease final acquisition
time. This work allowed us to create a sequence, SSFSE 4 echoes, reliable and
reproducible to calculate pediatric neurologic T2 maps with duration suitable
for routine clinical practice.
