Quantitative assessment of regional cardiac function may additionally improve the accuracy of detecting subtle wall motion abnormalities due to heart disease. Recently developed fast cine displacement-encoded with stimulated echoes (DENSE) MRI is a promising modality for the quantification of regional myocardial function.
