Choroidal melanoma is the most common intraocular malignancy. The objective of the present study is to quantify apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) of choroidal melanoma for tumor identification in mice. Mice underwent intraocular inoculation of 50103 B16F10 melanoma cells were imaged at 11.74T. Three-direction diffusion weighted images were acquired to derive the ADC map. Tumor mass could be clearly indentified on the ADC map due to the higher ADC of melanoma tumor (0.6510-3 mm2/s) than that of the retina (0.3610-3 mm2/s). The results suggested diffusion weighted MRI could detect choroidal melanoma in vivo.
