Current density impedance imaging (CDII) is a novel technique that can non-invasively image the internal conductivity of an object. In this study, CDII was used to measure the conductivity distribution of the porcine heart. The experimental results showed conductivity variations due to internal heart structures. The CDII-measured conductivity is consistent with direct dielectric measurements, which demonstrates the capability of CDII in imaging biological tissues. Reliable conductivity images will provide invaluable information for bioelectricity research such as the myocardium defibrillation study.
