The purpose of this study is to validate the single breath-hold dual-echo Dixon technique for hepatic fat fraction quantitation with histopathologic correlation. A water/fat phantom study was performed and clinical patients with hepatic metastasis were scanned prior to hepatic resection. Using this technique, fat fractions measured on MR images were highly accurate in the phantom study and highly correlated with histopathological specimens in the clinical patients.
