NMR-visible mobile lipids (ML) resonances detected in various tumours and cultured cell lines vary in intensity with growth rate. Our purpose has been to improve our understanding of the origin of this ML variation in cultured C6 cells. Results obtained demonstrate that TAG content per cell does not change between log and post-confluent cells, suggesting that changes in ML resonances in C6 cells arise from biophysical causes rather than from biochemical changes in TAG content per cell.
