Diffusion MRI provides an early marker of therapy-induced cell death in tumors, yet its use may be sometimes limited by motion. T1&[rho] MRI has recently been suggested as alternative means to detect early tumor response. In the current study we compared T1&[rho] and diffusion responses following chemotherapy in mouse EL4 lymphomas at 9.4 T. Following treatment, diffusion values increased yet T1&[rho] did not change. The current results imply that the use of T1&[rho] as an alternative for diffusion may not be feasible in all tumor models.
