The increase of the signal-to-noise ratio and the increase in spatial information of the RF coil sensitivity profiles with field strength promise considerable gains in the performance of SENSE accelerated high-speed spectroscopic imaging at 7 T. In this study we demonstrate feasibility of up to 4-fold acceleration of Proton-Echo-Planar-Spectroscopic-Imaging (PEPSI) with one-dimensional SENSE parallel imaging at 7T in phantoms and 2-fold acceleration in human brain using an 8-channel coil array.
