Several phantoms simulating the BOLD effect have recently been presented and is an effective alternative to simulated data to optimise fMRI methods. In this work a two compartment agarose gel phantom with different T2 is presented and evaluated with respect to reproducibility between multiple scan sessions. The phantom could be manufactured with specific relaxation properties and the signal time course was found to be reproducible. The phantom is proposed as a tool for optimisation of image parameters and regular QA in fMRI applications.
