Somatosensory fMRI studies using isotropic 3 mm resolution, were compared across magnetic field strengths (1.5, 3 and 7 T). fMRI datasets were acquired at four echo times per field strength to allow estimation of the change in R2*. The paradigm involved vibrotactile stimulation of the thumb. ROIs in SI were selected and R2* changes in these regions were computed for each field strength. Delta-R2* was found to increase with field strength.
