We have combined rapid high resolution relaxometry with DT-MRI tractography to visualize, for the first time, T1 and T2 along specific anatomical pathways. The method highlights the gray matter termini of white matter pathways (due to presence of a white matter / gray matter gradient), helps to identify partial volume artefacts, and can be used to perform a more complete characterization of specific pathways than previously possible. The data required to perform these measurements was acquired in 30 minutes, making tract-specific T1 and T2 measurements clinically feasible.
