Mean Diffusivity (MD) and Fractional Anisotropy (FA) obtained from DTI measurements are two quantitative parameters characterizing brain diffusion. In this study, 307 subjects, spanning the ages of 62-99 years were analyzed in terms of MD and FA data. Correlation with these parameters was found with increasing age. These data may allow differentiation in changes in the parameters due to clinical diagnosis to be isolated from normal aging. Further, pronounced differences between MD and FA histograms obtained using different b values agree with theories of diffusion as being multiexponentially dependent.
