It is hard to evaluate animal motor function with traditional fMRI. Manganese-enhanced MRI (MEMRI) can reveal event-related neuronal activation during post-event period. After MnCl2 administration, mice were let run on a motor controled mouse treadmill at different time points and for different durations, which truned out to be different motor cortex activations. Therefore MEMRI may be a quantitative method to assess motor function.
