Detection of prostate cancer in the early, prostate intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) phase would be important for clinical decision making. In our study, ceMRI was carried out following Gd(ABE-DTTA) administration in a TRAMP mouse model. Pixel-by-pixel R1 mapping was used to differentiate prostate areas with different pathology grades. We found correlation between the areas with significantly different R1 enhancement and areas with different PIN grades as determined by the histological analysis. R1 was found more enhanced in normal areas and areas with low grade mouse PIN (mPIN) versus lower enhancement in areas with high grade mPIN and early adenocarcinoma.
