The longitudinal relaxation time T1
can be estimated from a set of spoiled gradient
recalled echo (SPGR) magnetic resonance images acquired over a range of flip
angles with constant repetition
time (TR). While linear estimators
are widely used because of their low computation time, they are less accurate
than their slower nonlinear counterpart1. In this work, we introduce
a novel NOn-linear VarIable Flip Angle
data baSed T1 (NOVIFAST) estimator that combines the best of both
worlds: high accuracy and precision in a low computation time.
