A 3’ clear
polycarbonate tube together with a dowel rod extending the entire length of the
tube, centered in the middle of the tube, were used to model the spinal canal
and the spinal cord. Normal saline solution was used to mimic the Cerebrospinal
(CSF) fluid. The dowel rod was centered
with winged support structures that were 3D printed from a CAD model. A spinal
canal occlude was also 3D printed. 4D flow MR imaging was performed and results
indicate that the flow phantom has utility for validation and testing of MR
methods for measurement of CSF flow.
